Reminder: No choir practice on Thursday, 3 April 2008, due to Sports Meet.

2nd reminder: Photo-taking on Friday, 18 April 2008. Black Suits for those who have, School Uniform + Tie for those without. Haircut?

3rd thing: Musical coming soon... [hint: that's the last project for the Sec4/5s before the 'O's.]

Musical, Exam, and the 'D' word.

Just to give a clue of what's happening in choir now [specifically for those who went for OBS, to whom we say welcome back to civilization and congratulations on completing the camp],

We've been learning a new song ["Die Nacht(Opus 17, No. 14)], revising the same few songs we've been doing, and we're about to learn a medley for our musical next practice [tomorrow], if the plan doesn't change.

I hope everyone will be able to help the OBS guys out with their music when they come back, especially since we have learnt Die Nacht pretty fast.

Exams are coming up [in one month's time, in fact]. Hope everyone has been coping. Better start those revisions soon! [that's not an excuse, nor a reason, to not attend choir practice, mind you]

There has been some concern about the poor attendance and discipline that's increasing gradually as time passes.

Perhaps we should remind ourselves that when we are not cooperating, we are not letting the choir practice progress.

Not cooperating = Choir practice stalls = us ending later  = you wasting time = others' time wasted = everybody loses

However,

Everyone cooperates = choir practice moves smoothly = on task = choir practices end earlier = more time to study or play soccer [yeah, you think i'm blind or deaf? I know about the soccer games]

btw, for those who plan to ruin a practice such that we can't do anything, worse news for ya.

bad practice(s) = additional choir practices OR more harsher punishments

Simple math, even a primary school kid with an IQ above 80 should understand.

Are you more retarded than a primary school kid?
[dumber is not equal to more retarded.]
lalala..

New Rule...

Just a new rule for the record [it's in black and white now...]

#3.
Member are to bring their scores AND CHOIR JOURNALs for every rehearsal.
ii. If they fail to bring their choir journals, they will be fined $1.00.

Don't complain that you didn't get "advance notice"...

How many push-ups did we do?

Session 1 [morning session]
Jumping Jacks accumulated: 0

Session 2 [afternoon session]
Jumping Jacks accumulated: 170
+20[whole choir]
+20[the weirdos. I'm not naming names, coz I know these people know who they are. In fact, I believe the whole choir knows...]

Jumping Jacks done: 120
+20 for the weirdos

Jumping Jacks owed: 70 [for tomorrow.]

Jumping jacks executed so far... 220.

Of Jumping Jacks and Star Jumps

Hey guys: just informing you on this. Other than having Ronald post the number of Jumping Jacks/Star Jumps done on the day, the total cumulative of each and the % change, I have created a section (much like a very dedicated piece of division layer) for this precious archiving of progress! So we will be able to see whether we become more/less efficient easily!

Just click on "the record" at the side navigation bar.

Have fun! And remember, D-I-S-C-I-P-L-I-N-E is essential for a choir to improve!

Starjumps 1

STATS| TERM 1 WEEK 10 THURSDAY

No. of starjumps done [units, not sets] : 50
Cumulative Starjumps: 50

No. of jumping jacks + starjumps this week [and to date]: 150

Jumping Jacks @ a Glance...

It's March! Hope everyone has more or less settled down to school life and the somewhat rigorous schedule.

Anyway, just thought I should start charting our "progress" of how many Jumping Jacks we have done. Since I only started today, I'll just start with some simple statistics from today's practice.

Besides, 100 is a good baseline number to start with. Easier to calculate percentages from such a round, whole, complete number.

[I'll probably have 2 separate stats type: 1 for Mr Tay's Jumping Jacks, another for Ms Gan's 'sets of starjumps'. We'll see how it goes...]

STATS| TERM 1 WEEK 10 MONDAY
Today's count: 100
Cumulative number of Jumping Jacks done to date [w.e.f. 1 March 08]: 100
% change from previous week: N/A [first official collection of data]

So here's where we are. Let's see if we can achieve a consistent decrease in the count, and hopefully [though unlikely] reach a plateau in the total number of jumping jacks we do.

All the Best!

ronaldLIONG| work towards a plateau (or even a 'zero') on the negative bits, but an exponential increase on the positive things.
